Atlantic Books acquire Starmer at 10 by Sir Anthony Seldon & Tom Egerton

27/07/2026

We’re thrilled to share that Ed Faulkner, group non-fiction publisher at Atlantic Books, has acquired UK and Commonwealth rights to Starmer at 10: The Unfulfilled Premiership by Anthony Seldon and Tom Egerton from Diane Banks at Northbank Talent Management.

Starmer at 10 will be published in hardback, audiobook and e-book in September 2027.

The book asks, how did Keir Starmer, uniquely in history, blow up a 170-seat majority in less than two years? Searingly analytical and written with extraordinary and unrivalled access to key players in the recent government, Seldon and Egerton will present the key reasons why the Starmer premiership went wrong, how he was brought down by plotters, what he got right and what it means for the future of Labour and British politics.

Seldon said: ‘The political world had priced in that the Conservatives were unable to hold on to the premiership with four PMs in eight years, but when Labour’s Keir Starmer succumbed to the same two-year syndrome, it was truly shocking and sent reverberations across the world.’

Faulkner said: ‘Anthony Seldon is the pre-eminent political biographer of our time. His recent Prime Ministers at 10 series have been Sunday Times bestsellers and created front-page headlines. We are shortly due to publish his landmark Sunak at 10: The Last Conservative Prime Minister?, written with Tom Egerton, featuring over 200 original interviews and fascinating insider details on the collapse of the Conservative party. His new book, Starmer at 10, promises to reveal the truth behind the most extraordinary political failure in recent history. It is a book that will genuinely change people’s opinions and we can’t wait to publish it next autumn.’
