HIM by JD Kirk wins Best Crime & Thriller at the British Audio Awards (‘The Speakies’)

Congratulations to JD Kirk whose Audible original thriller HIM won Best Audiobook: Crime & Thriller at the first British Audio Awards.

As Audible UK’s best-performing thriller of the year, HIM took the author of the bestselling DCI Logan series into the dark realm of a techno-thriller, with narration by Louise Brealey and David Tennant.

The prize was announced at a star-studded ceremony at the Royal Opera House on 24th November 2025, hosted by Sally Phillips.

Northbank Talent Management Agent Marissa Constantinou accepted the award on the author’s behalf, along with Tennant, Brealey and the Audible team.

David Tennant told The Bookseller:

As a customer of audiobooks, I’m so thrilled; I listen to something every day, it’s part of my life. So it’s something to celebrate that and applaud that industry and all the hard work that’s going on… It’s very transportive, the act of listening.

It was a very special night for Northbank authors, as Bad Publicity by Bianca Gillam was shortlisted in the Best Audiobook: Romance category.
