Speaking today at Engineers Ireland’s National Conference, Tim Gregory explored how nuclear power could play a pivotal role in meeting Ireland’s growing electricity needs while enabling a transition away from fossil fuels.
Tim is a Senior Nuclear Chemist at the National Nuclear Laboratory and author of Going Nuclear: How the Atom Will Save the World, published by Bodley Head (UK) and Pegasus Books (USA).
The conference, Green Spark – The Future of Ireland’s Energy, took place at the iconic Guinness Storehouse and was hosted by broadcaster and journalist Philip Boucher-Hayes. The event brought together engineers, industry leaders, and policy experts to examine the opportunities and challenges of planning for Ireland’s future energy demands, including the role of renewables, emerging technologies, and nuclear power in achieving net-zero targets.
