James Pulford, senior editor at Atlantic Books, has acquired UK and Commonwealth rights (exc Canada) from Matthew Cole at Northbank Talent Management in Truss at 10 by Sir Anthony Seldon, written with Jonathan Meakin.

Seldon’s excoriating account of Boris Johnson’s time in office, Johnson at 10, was the bestselling political biography of 2023.

James Pulford says: ‘Liz Truss’s disastrous stint as prime minister was famously the briefest in British history, though, as anyone battling rising mortgage costs or the cost of living will know, the legacy of her hapless government lives on. Anthony’s authoritative, eye-opening and jaw-dropping account of Truss’s time in office will be the first full account of what really happened behind the black door of No. 10 over the course of those tumultuous 49 days. We are delighted to be publishing the latest installment in the highly-acclaimed ‘Prime Ministers at 10’ series following the success of the Sunday Times bestseller Johnson at 10. Truss at 10, which highlights the 10 fundamental mistakes Truss made during her time in office, is informed by the extraordinary access the author has had to key people and written material.’

Matthew Cole says: Truss’s premiership was one of the most extraordinary periods in British politics, and Sir Anthony’s authoritative and insightful book on the subject will be a landmark publishing event.’

Truss at 10 will be published Autumn 2024.
