Tell us a bit about your job?

There’s not really a tidy title for what I do but I’m a cookbook author, recipe developer and food stylist. So I’m pretty much around food all day!

What are the key ingredients for success?

Discipline and perseverance, especially if you’re self employed or freelancing. Sometimes it can feel like things aren’t moving forward or moving fast enough but the consistent work you put in each day will make a difference in the long run. Success doesn’t happen overnight!

Describe a normal day?

My days and weeks are incredibly varied but generally, I spend a lot of time in the kitchen testing ideas and playing around with recipes. If I’m not styling on a shoot then I like to dedicate some time creating content for Instagram and my blog. I also work on planning upcoming pop up brunches and supperclubs for a business I run with my sister.

For those trying to break into the industry, could you explain how you got where you are today?

I got into the food industry through a very unconventional way. I actually studied Economics at University but it wasn’t until being on GBBO that I realised how much I wanted to work with food full time. Since then, it’s been great to be able to create my own career path, work on some really unique projects and connect with people from across the industry.

What are you reading, watching and listening to now?

Halfway through reading Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo! And I’ve just finished binge watching the latest season of Ozark on Netflix which was just fantastic and I’m a little sad I have to wait over a year for the next season!
