Scholastic UK to publish self-confidence guide FEARLESS! by CEO of Ditch the Label Liam Hackett

Scholastic UK is delighted to announce a World Rights deal for Liam Hackett’s non-fiction debut, Fearless! How to be your true, confident self.

Hackett is the founder and CEO of Ditch the Label, one of the largest anti-bullying charities in the world. In 2018, Ditch the Label reached 2 million young people across the globe and the charity has recently launched a resource website for educators. Leah James, Publishing Manager at Scholastic UK, struck the deal for World Rights with Northbank Talent Management.

In Fearless!, Hackett aims to help young people be themselves, explaining how they can break free from labels and stereotypes to fear less and truly realize their full potential.

Liam Hackett says: ‘Young people are under a growing amount of pressure to perform at school and conform to societal stereotypes. The data consistently shows that bullying is now at record levels and young people are struggling with their mental health, wellbeing and identity. This book, I believe, is will provide helpful advice and support. I have drawn from personal anecdotes, research and the stories of inspirational people to put together a compelling guide on being yourself, building confidence and becoming fearless.’

Leah James, Publishing Manager at Scholastic UK, says: ‘We are enormously proud to be publishing this exceptional book next year and hope that Fearless reaches young people in need Liam’s inspiring words.’

Hannah Weatherill, literary agent at Northbank Talent Management, says: ‘We’re very proud to represent Liam and are thrilled that Scholastic will be publishing his first non-fiction book. Fearless is a brave, honest and inspiring book with a fantastic message, and Liam is the perfect author for it.’

Fearless! How to be your true, confident self will be published in January 2020.
