Zoe Ball on Dark Pines by Will Dean: ‘I couldn’t put it down.’

Dark Pines by Will Dean, which has been optioned by Lionsgate, was a hit with the Zoe Ball Book Club. Dean’s debut, the story of a young deaf reporter who investigates a murder in rural Sweden, was featured on the presenter’s ITV programme, Zoe Ball on Sunday, on 8 July. Will Dean read an extract from the book in a forest location reminiscent of the novel’s setting.

Zoe Ball and guest reviewer Frank Skinner were particularly impressed by Dark Pines‘s dark atmosphere and intriguing twists. Ball herself told viewers that she ‘couldn’t put it down’ while Skinner likened reading the book to ‘play[ing] chess with Will Dean.’ Readers featured in a  video call-in segment praised the book’s realistic portrayal of a disabled protagonist.

You can watch the full programme on ITV Hub.
