Jonathan Rugman

Jonathan Rugman has been Foreign Affairs Correspondent at Channel 4 News since 2006. His journalism has won more than ten awards, including a BAFTA for his coverage of the 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris. A frequent visitor to the Middle East, he chronicled the ‘Arab Spring’ revolts from Tunisia and Egypt to Libya, Syria and Bahrain. 

He was based in Washington DC as Channel 4’s US Correspondent for three years and before that lived in Turkey, where he wrote his first book, Ataturk’s Children, a history of Turkey’s war with Kurdish separatist guerrillas.

 He has lectured on journalism at Cambridge University and presented Amnesty International’s annual awards for human rights reporting in 2017.
