Notes on My Family shortlisted for Bristol Teen Book Award

03/07/2018

Notes on My Family, the debut novel from Emily Critchley, has been shortlisted for the Bristol Teen Book Award.

The award will be voted on by Bristol teenagers in Year 9 and above, with copies of the shortlist available at local and school libraries.

Critchley’s moving and witty novel is narrated by Lou, a perspective 13-year old who delivers a vivid present tense account of life in a dysfunctional family.

The shortlist includes The Harder They Fall by Bali Rai, I Have No Secrets by Penny Joelson, I Am Thunder and I Won’t Keep Quiet by Muhammad Khan, Out of Heart by Irfan Master and Kaleidoscope Song by Fox Benwell.

The winner of the Bristol Teen Book Award will be announced in early 2019. We wish Emily and Notes on My Family the best of luck.
